Mixing bowls are a kitchen necessity, so when stocking your kitchen cupboards, choose a variety of different mixing bowls. Stainless steel mixing bowls
are handy for whipping up batters and doughs, and even for using over a simmering pan of water as a make-do double boiler. They're generally also dishwasher safe - but remember not to ever use them in the microwave.
On the other hand, ceramic or heavy-duty glass (or Pyrex) bowls are microwave safe, and are a bakers' best friend. Which bowls do you love the most? Which are the ones you grab from your kitchen cupboards the most often?
