Stock your kitchen: Mixing bowls

Mixing bowls are a kitchen necessity, so when stocking your kitchen cupboards, choose a variety of different mixing bowls. Stainless steel mixing bowls are handy for whipping up batters and doughs, and even for using over a simmering pan of water as a make-do double boiler. They're generally also dishwasher safe - but remember not to ever use them in the microwave.

On the other hand, ceramic or heavy-duty glass (or Pyrex) bowls are microwave safe, and are a bakers' best friend. Which bowls do you love the most? Which are the ones you grab from your kitchen cupboards the most often?

Stock your kitchen: Tovolo Silicone Mixing Spoons

Whip up a batch of cookie dough in style, with this lovely indigo shade of silicone mixing spoons. Why choose a silicone mixing spoon? Ooey gooey batters won't stick to it! And, does it hurt that it looks SO good while it's doing its job? I thought not...

...and, I love the Tovolo brand - great products at a reasonable price.
